About

Hi y'all, I'm Kelsie.

A twenty-something Mississippi girl who got a master's degree, a job, a house, a husband, and a puppy all in one year. I recently took a blogging hiatus to make all that happen without losing my marbles, but I'm back and ready to rock and roll.

My Martin and I got married on June 8, 2013 after almost 8 years of dating. We survived high school, college, and graduate school together + our first year of marriage so I'd say we are doing pretty dang good. He lets me watch the Bachelor and I buy him Chips Ahoy cookies. We are basically the dream team. You can read more about our engagement and wedding here.

I proudly call the Mississippi Delta home. The home of blues music, mosquitoes, sweet tea, poverty, and extravagance. I grew up in this sweet town behind a pair of rose-colored glasses, which were recently stripped away after year one of being a speech-language pathologist in the public school system. I've learned to love harder, pray harder, and play harder than I ever thought possible. The last place that I ever expected to be is the best place that I could have ever ended up.

I really like Jesus, Mississippi State University, Camp DeSoto, and traveling. You can expect those to be pretty common themes around these parts. I don't know much about gardening, DIY-ing, cooking, decorating, or fashion--so if you're looking for something specific you've probably come to the wrong place. My vision for this space is to leave you feeling full, happy, and encouraged.

So follow along as I learn to do life with a husband, a cat, a pup--all while living in a town with no Target or Chik-Fil-A.
